Global Think-Tank on Steatotic Liver Disease

  • 5-6 June 2025

  • Palau Macaya | Barcelona, Spain

Join the leading think-tank on SLD, where we connect healthcare professionals, patient advocates, and industry to exchange best practices in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management of MASLD/MASH. Through innovative, actionable strategies, we’re driving transformative efforts to end MASLD/MASH as a public health threat by 2030.

About the Think-tank

This 2-day flagship event* of the think-tank consists of five main sessions and three roundtable discussions, with key topics focused on steatotic liver disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, management and public health and policies.

Expert panels will present evidence-based case studies showcasing the latest advances in non-invasive diagnostics. Leading hepatologists, endocrinologists, primary care physicians, nurses, and nutritionists will contribute to building a community of practice by exploring collaborative and integrated approaches for managing MASLD/MASH.

Discussions will also address key topics such as patient engagement, health literacy, and raising broader awareness within healthcare systems and among the public. Particular attention will be given to the inclusion of MASLD/MASH in clinical guidelines and screening policies, as well as tackling health inequities and disparities where they arise.

*Attendance is limited. All applications for registration are reviewed, and will be notified of invitation status and fee via email within one week.

The Venue

Located in the heart of Barcelona, close to the Sagrada Familia, Palau Macaya is located within Casa Macaya.

An architectural gem of Catalan art nouveau, Casa Macaya was commissioned in 1898 by Romà Macaya i Gibert to architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch, with construction completed in 1901, shortly after Casa Amatller.

In 1976, thanks to the initiative of the Historical Archive of the College of Architects of Catalonia, Casa Macaya was classified as a cultural asset of national interest and a historical monument. In 1979, it was also included in the Catalog of Architectural, Historical, and Artistic Heritage of the City of Barcelona.
